Premier Tax Free: 300% growth during the last three years
Premier Tax Free organized successfully its first workshop in Greece entitled "From Mass Tourism to Tourist Experience" in a central Athens hotel recently.
The Premier Tax Free Greece workshop aimed to offer tourism professionals deeper understanding of their customers and invite them to use new attraction techniques to discover their true capabilities.
As highlighted in the conference, tourism already plays a pivotal role in the Greek economy, but in its current state, fails to attain its full potential.
Premier Tax Free Greece boasts an eight-year presence in the Greek market this year and the meeting was hailed and attended by the Governor of Greece's Independent Public Revenue Authority, Giorgos Pitsillis, who congratulated the organizers for their initiatives which have contributed generously to state coffers.
Premier Tax Free Country Manager for Greece Stavros Gesouras pointed out that the reduction of the buying limit below 120 euros promoted by Premier Tax Free brought a 40% increase in sales, increased the turnover in the domestic market as well as the state revenues from taxation and can therefore be considered an effective tool against tax evasion.
"Overall, during the past 10 years, Tax Free has reached a turnover of €1 billion, recording an increase of 300% in the last three years," said Mr. Gesouras, adding that the service essentially constitutes "a all-year-round discount enabling increased sales and heightened satisfaction."
Mr. Gesouras also presented the innovative Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) service, which allows tourists to make purchases in the currency of their countries at the current exchange rate, redistributing revenue in the Greek market that was previously lost to foreign banks.
He also revealed that Premier Tax Free has submitted a proposal to Greece's Directorate General of Customs and Revenue to simplify and expedite the sealing process of vouchers and is currently planning the adoption of the Digital Tax Free servive in Greece.
